What's going on...
Today marks the 13th day of dad being sick. It began as a cold moved to the flu (currently thinking swine flu) and has ultimately progressed to Profound Bilateral Viral Pneumonia. Dad went to his first doctor visit last tuesday, This was just a regular doctor appointment. The doctor perscribed dad an antibiotic and had him get a chest x-ray, but when the x-ray came back clean he sent dad home. Thursday rolled around and dad still hadn't gotten any better, in fact he had gotten worse, so mom took him to the ER where they pulled up his x-ray from the previous day and said that there was nothing they could do...that dad was just going to have to ride it out. Once again dad's condition only worsened so mom brought him to the texas med clinic. From there they found that dad's oxygen levels were severly low and once again told him that there was nothing that they could do for him. However, this time they did not send him home, they immediatly transported him from the med clinic to the regular hospital via an ambulance. Dad is currently at the Methodist Hospital in Stone Oak where he is receiving excellent care. The doctors have maintained that this will get worse before it gets better and he may not make it through. However, as a family we are cautiously opptimistic and are greatful for everything that evreyone has done and the concern that everyone have shown.
