Tuesday Update

Erin arrived on Sunday night and I arrived yesterday morning. Neither of us were prepared for what we saw...when someone tells you to prepare for the worst somehow you still manage to be optimistic. I guess seeing any parent in the hospital is scary. Luckily dad has the best room in the place which provides any onlooker with a spectacular view with the temple sitting right on the middle...the sight of the temple whenever you look outside has provided solace for out family. Anyway, dad was pale with an oxygen mask and was practically catatonic when i arrived...throughout the rest of the day we saw as dad slowly became more animated...which is a blessing for us because even though he may not be feeling any better it calms our nerves. his coloring is also slowly getting better. Last night they put dad on an oxygen machine which forces oxygen into his lungs...with this dad struggled sleeping and so today dad has become closer to the catatonic end again...but this is from lack of sleep...nothing else. Dad's medicine makes him realy shakey...that is really scary...when eating or drinking dad needs someone to help him. Dad isn't coughing as much...but when he does it is alot. Good news is that his oxygen levels have gotten better....which means that as we speak the nurse is changing his oxygen mask to a different one which has a lower dose of oxygen...which means his breathing is getting better!!! Dad got another chest x-ray this morning (i forgot to mention the second one which was night and day different from the first....it was a complete white out...which means alot of gunk)....anyway....the x-ray from this morning...though still almost all white....is showing some slight improvement! Up until this moment dad has been stable...no better...no worse...just the same...technically he is still on that stable road...but we are taking these slight improvements as motivators. we still have to wear masks and gloves when in the room with him...but it is a small sacrifice. Daddy is sleeping right now and we are all just greatful for everyone again. Dad has had alot of visitors and alot of people calling to check up on him...we are so greatful for you and everything that you have been doing for our family...you have bolstered up our family. thank you.

sorry this blog is so scattered...but i am trying to remember everything that you need to be updated on....if you have anyquestions please feel free to ask and i will answer.....there really is not much to do....we just kinda sit here!

ill update again later if something changes....if not ill update tomorrow.
